On the frame this week...

Wow, what a busy couple of weeks it's been here at The Quilt Room HQ! Lots of beautiful quilts coming my way that I have been very privileged to have the opportunity to quilt.

I'll share some of them today and save the rest for another blog post :)

I've had LOTS of fun with some of these quilts lately. First up a gorgeous little cot quilt for a special little boy made by his grandma. She has pieced this quilt using some fabulous dinosaur fabrics and asked if I could quilt some dinosaurs to finish it off. Why, yes-osaurus!!

I found this computerised dinosaur design which was just perfect for the quilt!

My customer did a lovely job of piecing this quilt and it came up beautifully. I'm sure her grandson will love it!

Next up was a couple of quilts for a lady with a sports mad household! Firstly a quilt for a mad AFL Essendon supporter - I found this fabulous football design which worked great on the entirely red and black quilt. I'm sure I'll get lots of use out of this design :)

Her second quilt had a basketball theme. She had incorporated some embroidery in every second square so I decided to free motion quilt the top so I could work around these. I quilted a large pebble design to imitate the basketballs and quilted in a basketball every now and then to stay with the theme. Because we used a double layer of wadding the basketballs really popped off the quilt with a real 3D effect! I used a monofilament clear thread on this quilt.

 And a close up......

Lots more to share next week. Until then, happy quilting!
